PALS Renewal for
Healthcare Providers

Course Description:
This American Heart Association authorized PALS Renewal course focuses on providing California's Healthcare Professionals with the knowledge and skills necessary to diagnose and treat critically ill infants and children.
This scenario-based course emphasizes team dynamics with pediatric emergency management of pediatric patients approaching or already in respiratory or cardiac arrest.
This course covers treatment beyond the first few emergency minutes and goes through stabilizing patients or transport phases of a pediatric emergency in or out of a hospital setting. GMEC’s PALS Renewal course is a LOW-STRESS, hands-on experience taught by veteran instructors in a state of the art facility utilizing the most up-to-date equipment and techniques.
The LOW-STRESS Mega Code portion of our course is a hands-on, simulated clinical scenarios where vital life saving skills are practiced first as an individual, then as part of a team, and finally as a team leader.
As an American Heart Association authorized provider, our PALS course focuses on these core concepts:
- Recognition and treatment of infants and children at risk for cardio-pulmonary arrest.
- The systematic approach to pediatric assessment
- Effective respiratory management
- Validate skills for 1 and 2 person CPR and AED skills for infant and child
- Defibrillation and synchronized cardioversion
- Intraosseous access and fluid bolus administration
